Biely Shoaf Presents Louise Mulgrew

The Bridgewater Brand Experience!

I have blogged about and covered in print Bridgewater Candle Company’s Light a Candle Feed a Child programcreated in partnership with Rice Bowls, a non-profit with a mission to feed and nurture orphaned children worldwide.

Through it, each candle sold feeds one child for one day — and so far, Bridgewater has provided over 5 million meals to children in 50 orphanages throughout the world!use_me2Of course, it is one thing to write about this and showcase the product from the comfort of one’s desk — and quite another to personally see the program’s impact.

So, I was thrilled when I was invited — along with several Bridgewater employees, retailers and sales representatives — to take part in Bridgewater’s Brand Experience 2016 to Haiti to visit some of the orphanages supported by the company.

Come September I’ll be heading first to Spartansburg, South Carolina, to tour the manufacturing facility where all the candles are made. This won’t be my first factory tour by a long shot, but it will be my first candle factory tour — and I’m really excited to see these beautiful, fragrant candles come to life. useme_6 use_me7 use_me1Then we’ll head to Haiti to get to  spend time meeting the precious kids and hearing their stories — and seeing first-hand impact the program is having on their lives.useme_3 useme_5To say I’m excited is quite the understatement. Thank you Bridgewater for this incredible opportunity! I’ll be sharing my experiences here as well as in the pages of Gift Shop and Stationery Trends.useme_4
