The Tiny and Snail Sisters!

Stationery is full of great maker stories, but sit back and get comfortable, because that of Tiny and Snail is really something else! Grace Nixon Peterson (AKA Snail) and Leah Nixon (AKA Tiny) are the sisters and the nickname namesakes behind this vibrant brand, which first opened its doors in 2017.

The following year, Leah was paralyzed in a construction accident at her day job, building homes with Habitat for Humanity. “Tiny and Snail quickly became a life raft for us in the months following my accident,” Leah recalled. “We are beyond grateful that I survived without a traumatic brain injury and still have use of my hands. Let’s just say the accident really helped us zero in on what makes a powerful sympathy and support card!”

Leah also gained expertise in the baby market when she welcomed Ellie Grace to the world this past July. And, every August 14, the sisters celebrate Leah Lived Day. For this past one —the third annual for those keeping track at home — they unveiled The Deep Roots Collection, stationery “that honors the mystery of life.”

A portion of the profits from this collection go towards the Craig Hospital Foundation to support Spinal Cord Research. Good luck not buying it all!

Frankly, I’m kicking myself for not discovering them a lot earlier! But that’s all in the past now, especially now that Leah has been recognized as a 40 Under 40 Nominee in the Class of 2021. Congrats Leah, on that, and so much else! Hopefully both Tiny and Snail don’t mind my saying I’m expecting to see a lot more great design from this brand. (No pressure though — just keep doing what you’re doing please!)

There’s a lot to lose yourself in in this house of exquisite stationery. Check out this giveaway, take a free envelope tutorial, and shop the Deep Roots Collection — but not before snagging your 20% discount code.
