Custom Invitations from Sky of Blue Cards

Many letterpressers also create custom invitation suites for special events, and Sky of Blue Cards is no exception. But, if it’s a smaller party that requires 50 invitations or less, the client doesn’t want letterpress, or the design simply doesn’t lend itself to letterpress, CEO & Chief Designer Karla Ebrahimi will try something else.

Sometimes she digitally prints invitations and enhances them with either store-bought or custom-designed rubber stamps, using them with ink stamp pads or even heat embossing them in a clear or corresponding color.

“I LOVE heat embossing; it’s so festive and clients love the hand-made aspect of it,” Karla told me. “I’ve found that my clients also love to have a custom-made stamp. It’s nice for them because they can use it for thank you notes after the event is over.”

For this Camp Fortitude 40th birthday party poster invitation and components, instead of illustrating it herself, Karla sourced the vintage camp icons and purchased the license for a one-time-only run. “That invitation suite was probably one of the coolest things I’ve created in a while,” she told me.

Although I’m more of the glamping type, these are so fun! I love the color palette and especially the little icon on the envelope.

“It’s all just a complete joy to create these pieces, and I’m so very lucky that I get to do this for a living!” Karla finished. I think Karla’s love for design is definitely evident in this adorable suite.
