Brighter Days Definitely Ahead

As the first full month of 2024 comes to a close, I cannot be the only person feeling as though I’m languishing in a sea of gray. As if Cleveland weather isn’t dismal enough, lately a rather persistent fog has transformed my walks with Scout into a Sherlock Holmes movie set.

Not that this Midwesterner is complaining, exactly: A little fog is certainly preferable to frigid air freezing your nasal and lung passages as you attempt to breathe during a blizzard. However, this certifiably blah mood certainly calls for a fresh dose of bright, red-hot color.

Fortunately for all you nerds, the inimitable Jason Arbuckle of J.Falkner is here to warm us all with a much-needed neon infusion. Right out of the gate, you see a nod to my favorite trend spotted at Atlanta Market: cake! Ok, that’s enough editorializing from me for now; I’ll let Jason take it from here.

Here at J.Falkner, we’ve always loved strong, bold colors. For our new release we decided to up the ante, and go with neon Pantone colors — a fresh palette that really pops on the shelves.

I was also inspired by my first visit to Maison and Objet in Paris back in September.  Of course, this city is always full of ideas, and what I noticed particularly was how designers used neon liberally, yet in an elegant way — more French chic than sugary teen pop.

When the colors are so strong, the trick was to make the design simple.  We used just two colors — Pantone Hot Pink 806, and Rich Orange 805 — accompanied by black type to keep things modern.  And printed on Mohawk Superfine vellum paper for a luxurious touch.

As the first samples came in, I was delighted to see how happily they sit amongst the natural brights of flowers and plants right here in Palm Beach (as you can see from these photographs).  As we often say, our cards are made in sunshine — and this new collection brings those sunny brights to birthdays, thank you’s and other occasions.

“Plus! Our online store is now offering a free card (for every four cards purchased) to embrace the new year.  Use the code NEWYEARGIFT.

Retailers, check out the new collection with your favorite rep, or find our range at Faire.

Thank you Jason for putting all this stationery sunshine in the world — to say nothing of all those free cards! I witnessed these dazzlers at Atlanta Market for myself, and can attest that they even more brilliant in person. I just know that every last person reading this knows someone who would love one of these in their mailbox, so head on over to J. Falkner and start your card restock already!
