Shades of Expressions Designs is ready for summer with a slew of sunny stationery selections featuring those favorite sources of entertainment and activity, children and puppies.
This paper house is a woman-run, American family enterprise in every sense of the word. Three generations of woman — one mom, two daughters and a granddaughter — comprise the team.
“My mother is the artist who creates and designs everything,” the company’s Amanda Bush told me. “She has a degree in commercial and fine arts and taught in schools and privately. She’s also done commissioned projects. I manage the business and prep all designs to get them ready for printing, including wording. My sister helps me with marketing, and my niece helps in all areas where needed, order processing, website updates, and social media posting. As a group we decide what each design should be used for — that is, a greeting card, notecard, invitation, notepad, journal, coaster, art print, or something else.”
