The Ultimate Gift from Sugar Paper

Every last moment is a gift … that’s why we call it “the present.” I’ve written many times about the mighty Sugar Paper x Target collab, because to me it truly encapsulates the idea of making quality stationery accessible to all. Here on the one hand, you have the affordability, scope and powerful geographic reach of Target. On the other, you have the exquisite styling and attention to every last detail that is the Sugar Paper signature.

That iconic California brand was founded by Chelsea Shukov and Jamie Grobecker 20 years ago this month. I still well remember working my way through a crowd at their National Stationery Show booth for my chance to peruse their fantastic letterpress invitation albums — and how tongues wagged throughout the community a few years later when Chelsea and Jamie announced that they would only offer them for a few select retailers. They then continued the serious business of laying down their own singular trajectory.

Sugar Paper began its Target collab around 2014 with desk and winter holiday paper offerings. I wrote about their second of three initial releases here. Now, nearly a decade later, the collab continues to bloom, most recently with an expansive everyday wrap release. So, if you liked their previous holiday wrap collections (which I featured here, here, here, here, here, here and here), you’ll find many of your favorite elements reconfigured in a versatile everyday format.

Choose from high-quality giftwraps that don’t tear at the worst possible time (if you are me, that’s just as you are applying that last piece of tape); elegant, easy gift bags offset with posh ribbon handles, perhaps with gently scalloped tissue tucked inside; gift boxes that also double as keepsake containers; and plenty of gift tags and toppers extraordinaire. All elevate any gift exchange (or even everyday moment) into something extraordinary.

But don’t take it from me — swoon over it for yourself below. Mix and match it all to create effects purely of your own making. For example, those balloons below (with a cameo from Chelsea herself!) are tied with Gold Glitter Gift Heart Toppers, sold in a set of 3 for an inflation-friendly $6.

Oh my, that was a lot of eye candy! Speaking of which, these days if you enter “Sugar Paper” in the Target search bar, you get an impressive 6,251 finds. That’s a lot of swag with which to present that next gift, or begin organizing your life. Head to your nearest Target to shop the collection IRL — or stay home and shop it 24/7 at Target.com.
