Why wait until January to start a new planner? Now you can hit Target and shop a range from Susy Jack, whose beguiling patterns are especially perfect for summer (and beyond). The collection, created in collaboration with Blue Sky, includes planners, calendars, clipfolios and binders in Susy’s signature fun, contemporary and abstract prints.
But don’t take it from me — check the trio of patterns out for yourself. These 8.5-x-11-inch planners feature plenty of writing space, monthly and weekly views, plus tabs for easy navigation.
Any indie maker dreams of landing on Target’s shelves, so Susy kindly took a few questions about how the collection came to be.
SS: What were you trying to create with this collection?
SJ: As someone who uses a paper planner herself, I felt the collection should be stylish, but equally importantly, easy to use and keep organized. With the bold and vibrant prints that I create, I knew it would be the perfect marriage between style, functionality and quality. Since a planner is used for an entire year, it was important to create designs that were refreshing and classic — something that delights you each time you use it.
SS: What was Target specifically looking for in the collection?
SJ: Organizing solutions wrapped in bright, colorful designs seemed to be a perfect match for Target’s young, vibrant guest. Blue Sky and I collaborated and developed this unique product assortment to present to Target, and I just knew it would be an instant hit. The pastel colorways and nature-inspired designs were perfect for a fresh collection at Target, and my aim was to create styles that would offer a little visual treat, but also be durable enough to stand up to a busy work and/or home lifestyle.
Here’s a few more fun peeks! Everything runs from July 2015-June 2016, and I love the black stripe on these tablet-style calendars.
