Summer is officially on — and so is a sunny, brand-new notepad range from J. Falkner. But these aren’t just any notepads — these were lovingly created by self-professed, professional notepad addict Jason Arbuckle specifically to bring some happy order to your life and your stationery.
“There’s something about the sense of possibility when I have a fresh new page,” he confessed to me, “which I means I’m always buying a another one!”
Thus the octet range — AKA Happy Notepads from J.Falkner — came to life. But just like all the wares from this Palm Beach house of stationery, Jason wanted to put his signature spin on them. “Since I’m such a fan, I wanted to be sure ours were special, otherwise why crowd the market?”

Any stationery product really begins and ends with paper. “We looked at lot of papers, and eventually chose a heavier-than-usual paper, with a lovely smooth finish,” Jason explained. “Writing on them is a joy, and the extra weight of the paper means they can double as little notes, too.”

“And, since our brand is “made in sunshine” we wanted them have a fresh, colorful palette,” he continued. “Pink watermelons against a mint background, lime green palm tree on blush pink, and even a rainbow bordering one of our designs.”

“The yellow sunshine notepad might be my personal favorite — it’s a bright sunny way to get the day’s to-do list started.”

“And the watermelon notepad makes me want to buy all sorts of fresh fruit and veg this summer, so it’ll be a great market pad.”

“We’ve also taken one of our bestselling quote cards and re-imagined it as a notepad. What better way to get started than with a few choice words from Jack Kerouac?”

Notepads measure 4 ¼ x 6 ½ inches with 60 tearaway pages. For those in the trade, you can see them for yourself at the summer shows, or shop them now wholesale here.

Meanwhile, Jason tells me that early response from stores is quite positive, so don’t surprised to discover them at your fave local shop. That ever growing stockist list currently includes Popbar (Alpharetta), Archer Stores (Fayettesville), The Merchant at Krog St (Atlanta), The Breakers (Palm Beach) and Ampersand (Minneapolis).

Finally, the recommended retail price is $9 — but you can scoop them up here for a limited time at a extra-special, inflation-friendly introductory price of $7.50. That’s a lot of happy just begging to be filled in!
