Many paper nerds are familiar with the exquisite Lykkefund Paper of Zurich, which in 2022 snagged a Noted@*Noted Award for Best Card from a Rookie. Post-win, its founder, Daniela-Karin Raffl, took a hiatus and devoted half a year to travel and adventure.
Those experiences inspired her fantastic Alice in Wonderland Collection, which she describes as a fusion of wanderlust and wonderland. While Lewis Carroll’s tale is technically about a child’s struggle to survive the confusing world of adults, to me it’s about embracing change and not fearing weirdness — or magic. Its imagery and themes feel so perfect for these times, when all of us feel a bit mad now and again.
This collection of five cards captures the zaniness of Wonderland. A white rabbit races against time, a mighty key promises admission to Wonderland, and Alice even throws a gravity-defying birthday tea party. Meanwhile, flowers grow from shoes and envelopes open to reveal unexpected floating treasures.
