There’s nothing like a fresh new brand landing in your in-box to perk you up. And in the case of Haejin Duck, chances are you’ll feel uplifted and inspired as well. Artist Haejin Park describes her watercolors as “full of colors, beautiful textures, and happy characters,” but even those words seem to pale next to her vibrant, fanciful world.
What I love about her work is that there is more than meets the eye. This range is full of surprises, like fun layouts that encourage you to slow down for a moment and think outside of the box for yourself.
Haejin told me that as she is heavily influenced by the stationery culture she encountered growing up in Korea. “I was surrounded by small and big stationery shops (like) ArtBox and Morning Glory.”
Haejin cites nature, her talented artist friends, and her own imagination as her inspirations. “I try to always stay true to who I am and choose to not follow trends by focusing on building my own language. Watercolor as a medium also creates certain textures that I think are both organic and original. I hope these inspirations translate through my products as well!”
