Palm Royale meets J.Falkner

It’s easy to get distracted from great design in an election year, but the summer market season is currently in full swing. Dallas wound down in June, and Atlanta Market fires up next week. While I’ll be missing this year’s edition, today I have a vibrant sneak peek into what J. Falkner Cards will be unveiling in the stationery showroom that’s always my first stop in Atlanta: Daniel Richards. And it’s contributed by its cosmopolitan creator who I’m so thrilled to call a dear friend, Jason Arbuckle. Take it away, Jason!

As long standing fans of Palm Beach, we at J.Falkner Cards were thrilled that this little resort town we’ve called home (since 2011) was getting the big glamorous treatment from Apple TV, with an all-star cast — Palm Royale!

Naturally, it was an immediate source of conversation among us locals. While we no one would admit it was 100% accurate, there was so much that was spot on. The madcap characters were the show’s invention, but the look and feel of the fashion and the homes was instantly recognizably, and authentically, Palm Beach. (And, yes, everyone reads the “Shiny Sheet.”)

Maxine Dellacorte (nee Simmons), as a good Southern gal, would surely be a stationery fan! So, as we await the second season of the show (just greenlit!), we imagined some Palm Royale pairings with our new greeting cards designs — our new collection seems right at home!

Maxine would certainly have strolled Worth Avenue in one of her adorable 60’s patterned dresses. Our scallop patterned birthday card is inspired by those fun vintage patterns and the scallop awnings you find along the Avenue.

Ricky Martin is definitely the person we’d all dream of residing in our pool house!

Maxine’s elaborate updos, often tied with a bow, were almost their own character, and she might have enjoyed this be-ribboned birthday card

As the grand dame of the Palm Beach hotels, this is where Maxine would surely have stopped by, and maybe picked up a set of our Palms thank you cards, inspired by the swaying palms on the hotel grounds.

Yellow was Maxine’s signature color, so this sunny pineapple thank you card would have been right up her alley. And, as someone who was keen to get entertaining right, she would have known the pineapple has long been the symbol of hospitality.

In a twist cycle of art imitating life imitating art , the 60s kitsch cocktail that Maxine adores — grasshoppers! — are now back on actual cocktail menus in Palm Beach. Though sadly no longer at 1960s prices! She might have given this note to Robert in case he forgot how to make them.

This above sun-drenched collection is all brand new, appearing now in stores across the country. Retailers, again you can shop the whole fabulous shebang in person next week at the Daniel Richards showroom (Bldg 2, Suite 1634) in Atlanta.

Meanwhile, these dreamy Technicolor-esque cards can be shopped online 24/7 — here is all the latest vibrant newness for your shopping pleasure. (Don’t forget to check out those divine new strawberry designs! ~SS] Plus! Online shoppers now get a free card (with a purchase of 4) with code SUNSHINE.

As Season Two speculation begins, which characters do you think will return?
