A few weeks back, TPC posted its first National Stationery Show Insider’s Guide. The idea, which came from Amy Smyth of A Smyth Co., was for exhibitors to share which booths they cannot miss.
Now, no one can come to me with a good idea without becoming a part of the project itself. So today, I’ve got a real treat for you all: picks from Amy & her partner in crime John! First up, a peek of their wares.
Inside: Wishing you and your squad a Happy Thanksgiving!
John and Amy’s first pick is OPLUSD/offensive+delightful. “Graphic design, color and typography done right,” they noted. “Olga Krigman, owner & designer, is a character not to be missed.”
I have to say, I have to agree on both counts (and I must warn, these designs may be NSFW)! Don’t miss OPLUSD in Booth 2040.
Their next pick is Maginating in Booth 1763. “Cute, witty illustrations,” they noted. “Brad Woods, owner & illustrator, has a dry humor that can only come from a Canadian.”
It’s not too surprising that Maginating has won several LOUIE Awards, including Card of the Year — and are up again this year! Their next pick is Naughty Betty, distributed by Calypso Cards. “Humorous copy that nails it every time,” they told me.
I couldn’t agree more — see them in Booth 2520! Their next pick is Sapling Press, also one of my all-time faves. “Wit, sarcasm, humor and silliness. Lisa Krowinski is a genius curator and writer of all this funniness.”
Do what you will at NSS, but don’t miss Booth 2353! Last up, we’ve got Snow & Graham. “Classic, timeless, beautiful illustration and design.”
Very well-said — see them in Booth 1835!
These picks are so fabulous and spot-on, Amy & John! Be sure not to miss A Smyth in Booth #1851!
Stay tuned for more picks in this series from Rifle Paper Co., Sugar Paper, Hello!Lucky, Smudge Ink and Twig & Fig. And, if you haven’t made your NSS plans yet, the time is now. Register to attend here and apply to exhibit here!
