<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This past April&#8217;s Noted@*Noted Awards were very special, since, like the <a href="https://www.greetingcard.org/louie-awards/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" title="Louie Awards">Louie Awards</a>, they were actually celebrated in person for the first time since 2019. As such, there was a lot of excitement in San Francisco — ;but unfortunately not all the award winners made it to the festivities!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For example, Daniela-Karin Raffl of Zurich&#8217;s own <a href="https://lykkefundpaper.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" title="Lykkefund Paper">Lykkefund Paper</a> wasn&#8217;t able to make the nearly 6,000-mile trek — ;but her Flower Delivery card definitely did, and delivered in a very big way, taking the Noted@*Noted award for Best Card from a Rookie.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img src="https://thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Winner-Button-Rookie.png" alt="" class="wp-image-10010510" style="width:767px;height:767px" width="767" height="767"/></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Lykkefund_Paper_Print_1-768x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-10010863"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here&#8217;s that lovely winner again, and here&#8217;s its description that accompanied Daniela&#8217;s entry: ;&#8220;The Flower Delivery card is inspired by my journey to Vietnam some years ago. It shows how flowers are often sold there on the streets, which always fascinated me. I created a lot of illustrations while traveling Vietnam but this one was always my favorite. I think it will deliver happiness to many people.&#8221;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So, now I <strong>really</strong> want to go to Vietnam to see these flower vendors for myself, but equally intriguing is that the above design is but one bit of Daniela&#8217;s vibrant spring release.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img src="https://thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Lykkefund_Paper_Print_2.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-10010864"/></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There is something really magical and a little dreamy about Daniela&#8217;s illustrations as I&#8217;m sure you will agree. I was lucky enough to get samples during judging, and they are even more exquisite in person (which any paper nerd will tell you is not always the case). </p><div class="inline-post clearfix"><div class="see-also byline">See also</div><div id="block-wrap-62255" class="block-wrap-native block-wrap block-wrap-23 block-css-62255 block-wrap-classic columns__m--1 elements-design-3 block-ani block-skin-0 tipi-box block-wrap-thumbnail ppl-m-1 clearfix" data-id="62255" data-base="0"><div class="tipi-row-inner-style clearfix"><div class="tipi-row-inner-box contents sticky--wrap"><div class="block block-23 clearfix"><article class="tipi-xs-12 clearfix with-fi ani-base tipi-xs-typo split-1 split-design-1 loop-0 preview-thumbnail preview-23 elements-design-3 post-10015635 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-favorites category-papernerd-at-large tag-noted-2 tag-design tag-east-end-press tag-emily-mcdowell tag-emily-on-life tag-empathy-card tag-evergreen-podcasts tag-fugu-fugu-press tag-glassware tag-good-juju-ink tag-greeting-card-association tag-greeting-cards tag-guest-post tag-holly-whitaker tag-homework-letterpress-studio tag-jigsaw-puzzles tag-ks-design-co tag-letterpress tag-lisa-congdon tag-martha-beck tag-ornaments tag-paper-farm-press tag-pier-six-press tag-screenprinting tag-stationery-blog tag-stationery-design tag-stationery-designer tag-stationery-sets tag-stationery-trends tag-subject-to-change tag-tea-towels tag-the-greater-goods-alliance tag-the-paper-fold tag-the-paper-fold-podcast tag-the-paper-nerd tag-top-drawer" style="--animation-order:0"><div class="preview-mini-wrap clearfix"><div class="mask"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/noted-emily-mcdowells-take/" class="mask-img"><img width="100" height="100" src="https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=100%2C100&;ssl=1" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail wp-post-image" alt="" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=100%2C100&;ssl=1 100w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=120%2C120&;ssl=1 120w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=275%2C275&;ssl=1 275w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=372%2C372&;ssl=1 372w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=567%2C567&;ssl=1 567w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=882%2C882&;ssl=1 882w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=24%2C24&;ssl=1 24w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=48%2C48&;ssl=1 48w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=96%2C96&;ssl=1 96w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=150%2C150&;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=300%2C300&;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?resize=50%2C50&;ssl=1 50w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/EastEndPress.jpg?zoom=2&;resize=100%2C100&;ssl=1 200w" sizes="(max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px" /></a></div><div class="meta"><div class="byline byline-2 byline-cats-design-4"><div class="byline-part cats"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/favorites/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">Favorites</a><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/papernerd-at-large/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">Papernerd At Large</a></div></div><div class="title-wrap"><h3 class="title"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/noted-emily-mcdowells-take/">*Noted: Emily McDowell&#8217;s Take</a></h3></div><div class="byline byline-3"><span class="byline-part date"><i class="tipi-i-calendar" aria-hidden="true"></i> <time class="entry-date published dateCreated flipboard-date" datetime="2024-05-08T15:16:45+00:00">May 8, 2024</time></span><span class="byline-part likes-count"><a href="#" class="tipi-like-count " data-pid="10015635"><span class="likes-heart"><i class="tipi-i-heart-o" aria-hidden="true"></i><i class="tipi-i-heart" aria-hidden="true"></i></span><span class="tipi-value">0</span></a></span></div></div></div></article></div></div></div></div></div></tipimidc>
