<p>Here&#8217;s a most modern, fashion-forward stationery love story: the tale of KLâ¤ï¸ JF, a card collaboration between Palm Beach stylist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/katherinelande/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Katherine Lande</a> and Jason Arbuckle, creative director of <a href="http://jfalkner.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">J. Falkner Cards</a>.<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-15980" src="https://thepaperchronicles.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/katherine-lande.jpg" alt="katherine-lande" width="800" height="907" />In this age of Instagram-immediacy, trends from the worlds of art, design and fashion are more interrelated than ever. Be it texture, color or icon, these days consumers expect a trend in one design forum to instantaneously translate into another. Necessity was the mother of invention here in that this fashion-forward collaboration was born when Katherine — whose mother and grandmother instilled the importance of hand-written thank-yous at an early age — couldn’t find the perfect thank-you herself.</p>
<p>Katherine really enjoyed the creative process. “It was so fun to take what I’m currently coveting from the world of fashion, and reworking those inspirations into a new design medium.”</p>
<p>For his part, Jason was thrilled to work with a new design partner — particularly one so keyed into the world of haute couture. “While we often look to the latest fashions for inspiration, there’s nothing like collaborating with someone who really knows that world, who is sitting at the fashion shows in New York and Paris and styling magazine shoots.”</p>
<p>Enter the paint-splattered thank-you, which echoes the trend’s ubiquity on the runways. It even has its very own moodboard!<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-15981" src="https://thepaperchronicles.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/KL-hearts-JF-moodboard.jpg" alt="KL hearts JF moodboard" width="800" height="600" />“Graphic prints have always been my design vibe; the more contrast and bold the better,” Lande noted. “To me the splatter paint print represents bold ideas presented in an organic, effortless manner.”</p>
<p>“The paint splatter pattern is a big trend in fashion, but I haven’t yet seen it in the paper world,” agreed Jason. “We’re excited to bring something genuinely fresh and graphic to stationery.”<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-15983" src="https://thepaperchronicles.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/kl-hearts-jf-paintsplatter-card.jpg" alt="kl-hearts-jf-paintsplatter-card" width="800" height="555" />Debuting at the Summer 2016 gift shows, several fine stationers across the country have already ordered the ready-to-write design, including The Breakers News &; Gourmet Cafe and <a href="http://stationeronsunrise.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Stationer on Sunrise</a>, both in Palm Beach; Brooklyn’s <a href="http://lioninthesunps.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Lion in the Sun</a>; Atlanta’s <a href="http://www.archerpaper.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Archer Paper Goods</a>; Manhattan’s <a href="http://www.paperpresentation.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Paper Presentation</a> and Cambridge’s <a href="http://www.portersquarebooks.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Porter Square Books</a>. It can also be purchased online singly here and as a boxed set here.</p>
<p>As to whether this heartful collab will bear more fruit, look for another debut in January. “A cocktail brainstorming at Buccan is scheduled for October, after Katherine has been to the New York shows!” Jason promised.</p><div class="inline-post clearfix"><div class="see-also byline">See also</div><div id="block-wrap-19832" class="block-wrap-native block-wrap block-wrap-23 block-css-19832 block-wrap-classic columns__m--1 elements-design-3 block-ani block-skin-0 tipi-box block-wrap-thumbnail ppl-m-1 clearfix" data-id="19832" data-base="0"><div class="tipi-row-inner-style clearfix"><div class="tipi-row-inner-box contents sticky--wrap"><div class="block block-23 clearfix"><article class="tipi-xs-12 clearfix with-fi ani-base tipi-xs-typo split-1 split-design-1 loop-0 preview-thumbnail preview-23 elements-design-3 post-23349 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-favorites category-sponsored-post tag-keaykolour-papers tag-color tag-design tag-hybrid-design tag-materials tag-mohawk tag-mohawk-maker-quarterly tag-paper tag-sarah-schwartz tag-the-paper-chronicles tag-werners-nomenclature-of-colours" style="--animation-order:0"><div class="preview-mini-wrap clearfix"><div class="mask"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/mohawk-maker-quarterly-15-its-all-in-the-materials/" class="mask-img"><img width="100" height="100" src="https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=100%2C100&;ssl=1" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail wp-post-image" alt="" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=150%2C150&;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=200%2C200&;ssl=1 200w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=293%2C293&;ssl=1 293w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=75%2C75&;ssl=1 75w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=390%2C390&;ssl=1 390w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=24%2C24&;ssl=1 24w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=48%2C48&;ssl=1 48w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/MOH_MMQ15_12.jpg?resize=96%2C96&;ssl=1 96w" sizes="(max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px" /></a></div><div class="meta"><div class="byline byline-2 byline-cats-design-4"><div class="byline-part cats"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/favorites/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">Favorites</a><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/sponsored-post/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">Sponsored</a></div></div><div class="title-wrap"><h3 class="title"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/mohawk-maker-quarterly-15-its-all-in-the-materials/">Mohawk Maker Quarterly #15: It&#8217;s all in the Materials!</a></h3></div><div class="byline byline-3"><span class="byline-part date"><i class="tipi-i-calendar" aria-hidden="true"></i> <time class="entry-date published dateCreated flipboard-date" datetime="2018-11-13T14:35:55+00:00">November 13, 2018</time></span><span class="byline-part likes-count"><a href="#" class="tipi-like-count " data-pid="23349"><span class="likes-heart"><i class="tipi-i-heart-o" aria-hidden="true"></i><i class="tipi-i-heart" aria-hidden="true"></i></span><span class="tipi-value">0</span></a></span></div></div></div></article></div></div></div></div></div></tipimidc>
<p>As for Katherine, she seems enamored with her newest design partner — and their adorable logo. “My most used word has to be heart, so it only seemed natural to have the heart take place in the collaboration. Plus I totally heart everything J.Falkner.”</p>
