Happy National Stationery Week, all! To celebrate, I wanted to take a closer look at the ever-evolving sticker category. These are greeting cards to the world, and perhaps just as importantly, to ourselves.

Clever personal mantras are that much more compelling when presented in vibrant color and fun lettering. And while these sticky vinyl designs silently convey to others what we are about, they also remind us of that, every time we see them innocently looking back at us from our water bottle or planner. We already live in a meme-driven climate, so these babies are as eloquent as they are affordable and enduring.

For these reasons and more, there’s a lot happening in the sticker market. I took nearly as many images of stickers as I did cards at *Noted. Really, their potential is only limited by the creativity of the maker, or, in the case of Free Period Press, the makers this Cleveland brand spotlights.

Founder Lora DiFranco recently shared some launches from the brand’s Artist Sticker Series on Instagram, and I couldn’t not share them here. They are colorful, they are compelling, they are smart, and they pack an enormous design punch for a very small price.

As a Clevelander, I’m so thrilled that two of their artists — Ariel VanNatter and Bug Robbins — are Cleveland-based too. “We loved collaborating with them,” Lora told me. “It’s been fun to spread the love!”

See also
<div id="block-wrap-16070" class="block-wrap-native block-wrap
