<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Labor Day was established by Congress in 1894 on the first Monday in September to honor the nation&#8217;s workers and their contributions to this country. It&#8217;s also regarded as the unofficial start to the NFL season, but for paper nerds, it&#8217;s a chance to score some major stationery swag at a great discount.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Take <a href="https://www.papier.com/us" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Papier">Papier</a>, which has a most admirable mission: Creating stationery to invite curiosity and contemplation. This emporium of eclectic designs — designed both in-house and by an ever-changing cornucopia of up-and-coming makers, iconic brands and even fashion labels — aims to highlight the endless possibilities of the blank page. Every offering can be personalized, and as such, they are made to order and help reduce waste and carbon emissions. And, best of all, this esteemed house of paper has reduced its Academic Year Planners and Mid-Year planners for 15% off through September 4. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here&#8217;s a quick peek at a few swoonworthy designs:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Papier was gracious enough to offer to send me a sample, and I let my daughter Veronica pick one, as she&#8217;s just beginning her senior year. She chose this cool <a href="https://www.papier.com/us/colourblock-43465" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="wire-o Colourblock design">wire-o Colourblock design</a> — and it&#8217;s been her constant companion since its unboxing. The last time I looked, her deadline trackers were packed with her dizzying college application deadlines. I so appreciate that she has this useful tool to help her navigate this rather stressful time.</p><div class="inline-post clearfix"><div class="see-also byline">See also</div><div id="block-wrap-31355" class="block-wrap-native block-wrap block-wrap-23 block-css-31355 block-wrap-classic columns__m--1 elements-design-3 block-ani block-skin-0 tipi-box block-wrap-thumbnail ppl-m-1 clearfix" data-id="31355" data-base="0"><div class="tipi-row-inner-style clearfix"><div class="tipi-row-inner-box contents sticky--wrap"><div class="block block-23 clearfix"><article class="tipi-xs-12 clearfix with-fi ani-base tipi-xs-typo split-1 split-design-1 loop-0 preview-thumbnail preview-23 elements-design-3 post-10018006 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-favorites category-papernerd-at-large category-stationery-stories category-the-chicago-stationery-scene tag-a-favorite-design tag-amber-favorite tag-atlas-stationers tag-bari-zaki-studio tag-beans-bagels tag-bomo-art tag-brewpoint tag-chandra-greer tag-chicago tag-chicago-stationery-club tag-chicago-stationery-fest tag-debra-skinner tag-emma-lewis tag-eric-campbell tag-field-notes tag-foursided tag-greer-chicago tag-greeting-cards tag-horner-park tag-inkling tag-ipsento-606 tag-kibbitznest tag-lakefront-trail tag-marigold-press tag-midwest-nice tag-millennium-park tag-moth tag-papel-arcano tag-paper-pencil tag-paperish-mess tag-papir-plojhar tag-papirna-stationery tag-poetry-foundation tag-rare-form tag-sarah-schwartz tag-spoken-cafe tag-stationery tag-stationery-blog tag-stationery-design tag-stationery-designer tag-steel-petal-press tag-the-allis tag-the-book-cellar tag-the-catcade tag-the-twentieth tag-topdrawer tag-welles-park" style="--animation-order:0"><div class="preview-mini-wrap clearfix"><div class="mask"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/chicago-stationery-fest-an-unofficial-guide/" class="mask-img"><img width="100" height="100" src="https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=100%2C100&;ssl=1" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail wp-post-image" alt="" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=100%2C100&;ssl=1 100w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=120%2C120&;ssl=1 120w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=275%2C275&;ssl=1 275w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=372%2C372&;ssl=1 372w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=567%2C567&;ssl=1 567w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=24%2C24&;ssl=1 24w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=48%2C48&;ssl=1 48w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=96%2C96&;ssl=1 96w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=150%2C150&;ssl=1 150w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=300%2C300&;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?resize=50%2C50&;ssl=1 50w, https://i0.wp.com/thepapernerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/20250301_143941.jpg?zoom=2&;resize=100%2C100&;ssl=1 200w" sizes="(max-width: 100px) 100vw, 100px" /></a></div><div class="meta"><div class="byline byline-2 byline-cats-design-4"><div class="byline-part cats"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/favorites/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">Favorites</a><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/papernerd-at-large/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">Papernerd At Large</a><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/stationery-stories/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">stationery stories</a><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/category/the-chicago-stationery-scene/" style="color:#b79b0d" class="cat">The Chicago Stationery Scene</a></div></div><div class="title-wrap"><h3 class="title"><a href="https://thepapernerd.com/chicago-stationery-fest-an-unofficial-guide/">Chicago Stationery Fest: An Unofficial Guide </a></h3></div><div class="byline byline-3"><span class="byline-part date"><i class="tipi-i-calendar" aria-hidden="true"></i> <time class="entry-date published dateCreated flipboard-date" datetime="2025-03-06T17:00:40+00:00">March 6, 2025</time></span><span class="byline-part likes-count"><a href="#" class="tipi-like-count " data-pid="10018006"><span class="likes-heart"><i class="tipi-i-heart-o" aria-hidden="true"></i><i class="tipi-i-heart" aria-hidden="true"></i></span><span class="tipi-value">0</span></a></span></div></div></div></article></div></div></div></div></div></tipimidc>
